Prize Draw Rules
1. This prize draw is organised by RELX (UK) Limited trading as LexisNexis, company number 2746621, whose registered office is at 1-3 Strand, London WC2N 5JR (“LexisNexis”). The administration of this prize draw will be carried out at Lexis House, 30 Farringdon Street, London, EC4A 4HH.
2. No purchase is necessary to take part in this prize draw. This prize draw is open to all LexisNexis’ print customers located in United Kingdom (individually as a “Participant” and together as the “Participants”) who will be receiving an entry form either online or by an email sent by LexisNexis. The Participants can complete their submission online at www.lexisnexis.co.uk/renewals. Participants may only submit one (1) entry to this promotion. Additional entries will be void and will not be entered into this draw. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Prize Draw Rules and the decisions of LexisNexis.
3. Entries which are incomplete, misspelt, inaudible, or incomprehensible are void and will not be entered into this promotion. Employees, directors, and agents of LexisNexis and their immediate families and anyone who is directly connected with the administration of this promotion are not permitted to participate in the prize draw.
4. The prize draw will commence on 10th August 2022 and will close on 31st October 2022. There will be one (1) winner among the Participants that is randomly selected from all entries correctly submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions. There will be only one (1) prize available for this prize draw. The winner will receive one (1) 64GB tablet subject to the availability of colour. Prizes are awarded "AS IS." LexisNexis makes no offer of any warranty or guarantee, either express or implied (including, without limitation, quality, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) in connection with this prize draw or any prize. Prize details and availability are subject to change, in which case a prize of equal value may be substituted at LexisNexis' sole discretion. The prize(s) consist of only those items specifically listed as part of the prize. No substitution or transfer/assignment of prize by winners is permitted.
5. Information provided by Participants in registering for this competition will be used by LexisNexis for the purposes of this prize draw and for marketing purposes. If you do not wish for us to use your information for marketing purposes, please write to the Marketing Department at Lexis House, 30 Farringdon Street, London, EC4A 4HH to inform us. Acceptance of any prize constitutes permission for LexisNexis to use the winner’s name, voice, statements, image and likeness for purposes of advertising and trade, in any medium, without further compensation or notice, unless prohibited by law. Submission of contact information in connection with this prize draw (whether or not required), constitutes permission for LexisNexis to add entrant to LexisNexis’ customer database and to contact entrant in the future for promotional reasons. You may opt-out of receiving such communications as provided within any such marketing materials (e.g., using the “Unsubscribe” feature provided in the footer of LexisNexis’ emails).
6. PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION
6.1 “Data protection laws” means all applicable privacy and data protection laws, regulations, orders and other legal requirements. The terms “personal data” and “processing” will have the meanings ascribed to them in the data protection laws, and where the term ‘personal information’ is used, it will be read as personal data.
6.2 Participants are responsible for the legality of the personal data that the Participants provide to LexisNexis in connection with the Agreement. If and to the extent that the Participants provide personal data to LexisNexis for account registration or otherwise, the parties acknowledge that such information will be processed by LexisNexis in accordance with the data protection laws and the LexisNexis privacy policy applicable to the services at https://www.lexisnexis.com/global/privacy/privacy-policy.page, except where LexisNexis is processing such information on the Participants’ behalf, the terms of the LexisNexis Data Processing Addendum at https://www.lexisnexis.com/global/privacy/processing-terms.page will apply.
6.3 If and to the extent that the Participants transfer personal data to LexisNexis in a territory outside the originating territory, the parties will be deemed to have entered into the LexisNexis Data Transfer Terms at https://www.lexisnexis.com/global/privacy/transfer-terms.page in respect of such transfer, whereby the Participants are the “data exporter,” LexisNexis is the “data importer,” the optional clauses are omitted, and the content of the applicable annexes corresponds to the respective content of the Agreement, unless the parties may rely on an alternative transfer mechanism or basis under the data protection laws.
7. LexisNexis decision concerning the determination of the winner will be final.
8. The winning Participant will be notified by a phone call or email before the prize is dispatched. The prize will be dispatched to the company’s address of the winning Participant within six (6) weeks from the date of the prize draw. All applicable taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. All laws and regulations apply. The potential winner may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability/Prize Acceptance Form postmarked within 10 days of the date on notification materials. Noncompliance within this time period may result in disqualification, and an alternate potential winner may be selected. Return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification. The winner may be required to produce a picture ID or some other form of proper identification to claim any prize.
9. If a winning Participant does not confirm acceptance of the prize within fourteen (14) days, the Participant will automatically forego the right to claim the prize.
10. In the event of circumstances arising outside of LexisNexis’s control, LexisNexis reserves the right to cancel, suspend or change the competition or any terms and conditions applicable to the prize draw at any time, without having to give reasons for its decision and without incurring any liability as a result; in addition, LexisNexis reserves the right to change, suspend or cancel the competition.
11. The winner assumes all liability and agrees to hold LexisNexis harmless for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this promotion or use or redemption of any prize, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, LexisNexis shall not be liable for any loss, injury, claim, liability, or damage (e.g., direct, indirect, consequential, etc.) of any kind resulting in any way from the prize draw, including without limitation, (a) any errors or omissions, technical malfunction of any Participant’s telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment or software, or failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet, telephone lines or at any website, (b) the unavailability or interruption of the prize draw, (c) a Participant’s use or misuse of the prize draw or software (regardless of whether you received any assistance from LexisNexis in using or misusing the prize draw or software ), (d) any delay or failure in performance beyond the reasonable control of LexisNexis, or (e) any negligence of LexisNexis or its employees, contractors or agents in connection with the performance of our obligations under these terms and conditions.
12. This prize draw, and these terms and conditions, and any non-contractual obligations arising out of them, are governed by English law. By entering, you irrevocably agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales to settle any disputes or claims arising out of the prize draw or these terms and conditions (including non-contractual disputes or claims).
